Building a Community "Geek Space" focusing on Diversity & Inclusivity

A Black owned comic book/community coffee shop in my hometown of Philadelphia. Enough said.

From the Moola Hoop crowdfunding page:

AMALGAM IS COMING!!! It is over 10 years in the making, and after dreaming, planning, and saving the project is underway! But now we need your help to raise $30,000 in order to complete the renovation of our space. The renovation will include plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and the construction of a coffee bar/kitchen. We are creating a versatile space that will be used to host fun, interesting, and engaging events in our community. Join the AmalgaNation and wield a Weapon of Legend to help us reach our goal! The power is yours!

Amalgam is a comic book store and coffee shop hybrid that will be coming to the city of Philadelphia in the spring of 2015. We will be more than just a place to buy comics and coffee however, we will be a celebration of geek culture! Our goal is to create a community space while promoting diversity and inclusivity in comics and other forms of fantasy based entertainment.
