Her are some facts about Rae Dawn you may (or may not) know:

Was married to C. Thomas Howell.

Almost played Willis's girlfriend on Diff'rent Strokes (1978), but producers thought that she wasn't ethnic looking enough and cast Janet Jackson instead.

Subject of Stephen Lynch's song, "RDC (Opie's Lament)".

About Tales From The Darkside: The Movie (1990)

While I did watch this cut on network television before entering high school, I remember vividly catching the gotcha moment of "Lover's Vow" in Tales From The Darkside: The Movie while working a shift as a clerk at Blockbuster. Nothing prepared me for that and I was thrilled by this pretty clever twist. Because watching it a bit younger, I was far too freaked out by a talking gargoyle whom I just witnessed decapitate a man to really focus on anything else going on in that segment. Except the stunning Rae Dawn Chong who I think is in contention with Lisa Bonet for the decades hottest (I-wanna-be-her) It girl. That's an argument I'm willing to stand by. Carola seemed so naive, sweet, and certainly a dream come true for Preston (James Remar). Too good to be true.
